What's the right price to pay for a pair of running shoes?

*Guest post.
True or False — the higher the cost of a running shoe, the better it will be for you.

Answer: False, but there is a minimum amount you should spend on a pair of running shoes, which is about $100.

Why Spend at Least $100?
The price point of $100 is where good running shoes begin. Cheaper pairs of running shoes can cause you to be uncomfortable when you run, blisters, or even joint pain because they are not designed to cushion and support your body like good running shoes are.

One reason more expensive running shoes are better is because they are made with higher quality materials. The shoes usually have better technology when it comes to cushioning and breathability. In addition, more expensive running shoes are designed to last longer and are designed specifically with runners in mind. On the opposite side, less expensive running shoes reuse the same design and blueprints for years. Without research going into technology and what runners need, these shoes can be sold for a lower price, and that price can also make your feet uncomfortable.

You are investing in yourself, health, and your hobby all while trying to prevent injuries. No one wants to be laid up with stress fractures, shin splints, or tendinitis because you wouldn’t invest in a hobby you are serious about. Think about a pair of running shoes as an investment.

Take Into Account Your Needs
Before running out and buying a brand new pair of $120 running shoes, you need to think about what you need. Do you need cushioning or arch support? Do you have wide feet or overpronate when you run? Are you a serious runner or just looking for something to throw on if you happen to feel like a run one day?

The difference between these answers will help determine the type of running shoes you need, but they will also affect the price. For example, a pair of running shoes that you want to use every so often doesn’t need a high end competitive shoe, which would cost more money.

That is so true. I don't run but I do like wearing sneakers and I can guarantee a price does not mean its quality.

Totally agree with you, dear!
As runner I tried many brands and prices and I can totally say that many times the price doesn't mean quality, but on the other side under a certain price you can't expect the performance and the confort that only good materials and facture con guarantee.
