Kurt Geiger debuted his first branded collection for girls, dubbed Mini Miss KG. Targeted at 4-to 12-year-olds, the offering features playful, high-fashion takes on staple styles such as sneakers, espadrilles, sandals, ballet flats and Mary Jane shoes.
According to the company, the move into the kids’ wholesale market was inspired by the countless requests it has received from young girls wanting mini-me versions of Kurt Geiger’s trendy adult shoes.
“You wouldn’t believe how many letters we get from [kids] asking for shoes in their size — and now, their wish is my command,” said Rebecca Farrar-Hockley, creative director of Kurt Geiger.
“We’ve enlisted many of them to help design and edit the collection and, I have to say, these have been some of my favorite design sessions. Perhaps it’s the kid in me, but I’ve been itching to turn my hand to shoes for little girls for a while now.”
Priced from about $30 to $90, Mini Miss KG will be sold online at Kurtgeiger.com as well as in select Kurt Geiger retail stores. The collection also will be stocked at Harrods and Selfridges, where Kurt Geiger operates the children’s shoe concessions.
