Known for its innovative designs
and superior materials and craftsmanship, Brazilian shoe brand Melissa has opened a pop-up shop on
Lincoln Road in Miami’s South Beach. This gallery-like space stocks the
complete range of jellies alongside designer collaborations, including its most
recent with Karl
Lagerfeld. And just in time for Art Basel, this South Beach space
has partnered with Chilean-born, New York-based artist Sebastian Errazuriz for a shoe
installation and exhibition entitled 12 SHOES for 12 LOVERS. Featuring 12
shoe sculptures each inspired by a former girlfriend, Errazuriz explores the
boundaries of art and product design using state-of-the-art 3D printing
technology. The exhibition will be unveiled Thursday, December 5th, and will be
on view for one month. So for those headed south for Art Basel, be sure to
check out the unique footwear range and its corresponding art
installation. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
