Taking care of ones shoes, ain't easy, but with the right materials and approach, you will definately get your desired results.
THE ACT OF POLISHING:
The following are the MATERIALS needed in polishing.
*SHOE POLISH: the shoe polish is the main tool that is needed in polishing our shoes. Kiwi wax-based polish is as good brand as any other. (Cream polishes applied with a brush maybe easy to use,but they wont give you the same shine). You don't need every colour under the sun for polishing, black of course,a chestnut or a darker brown and neutral for light coloured shoes.
And there shoes that requires no polishing, all you have to do is to brush off with a very good brush.
*WELT BRUSH: looks like a toothbrush and you can use one in its place. It is designed to get the grit out of the seam where the shoes upper joins the sole, you will be amazed at how much dirt gets in there.
*POLISHING CLOTHS: if you prefer cotton or linen, use the same one for putting on the polish for bluffing also regardless of the colour your are using.
HOW TO POLISH.
1. Wipe your shoes down with a damp cloth to remove superficial dirt and stains
2.wet the welt brush and scrub out the entire welt strip
4.If the shoe needs it,apply sole edge dressing carefully. Always let edge dressing dry before going any further in the polishing
3. Apply polish using a circular rubbing motion, you don't need to be gentle. The more you run,the better.after polishing, let it dry which may take up to five minutes.
5.Buff the entire shoe with a polishing brush, for extra gleam, hold the shoe between your knees and buff the toe vigorously with a dirt free cloth.
